We now live in a time where makeup brushes look less like brushes and more like toothbrushes. MAC have just launched an ultra-modern range of unique, multi-purpose brushes to revolutionise – but not replace – personal makeup application tools.

I think that this is probably one of the most interesting MAC brush releases to date as they have really swerved away from the classic brush shape and developed something very new. There are 3 brushes to get within this collection; Linear 1, Oval 3 and Oval, which are all synthetic fibre brushes with a ‘special brush handle’ for better control and precision

Linear 1

Linear 1s a ‘short, narrow, brush designed to deliver precise strokes to the lashes line and lips. It can also be use to fill in your brows with a powder based product but I can’t account at which function it does best

Oval 3

Oval 3 has an elongated oval shape and slightly pointed tip. From what I gather this is a multipurpose tool that can be used with cream and powder based products on the eyes and on hard to reach contours of the face. I would love to see how this works with applying concealer but I can’t promise right now that I will be buying this to review

Oval 6

This is probably the Masterclass brush that I will be buying on Thursday. Oval 6 is THE blush, foundation or powder brush of the Masterclass collection. It is the most expensive but if this medium, rounded brush delivers as it should, it could be a worthwhile investment.

The MAC  will be available through the MAC permanent makeup brush collection this Thursday (GMT) but is already available over the counter in the US, do you think that you might give this toothbrush shaped makeup brush a try?
