If you are after an exact dupe of the KatVonD Hawkwind liquid lipstick then you are going to LOVE the B. 1995 Matte Liquid Lipstick. I’ve been wearing this lipstick since I got it in my B. Beauty Goodie Bag from the last Official B Beauty event a few weeks ago – I have said that I’m a slave to a good nude liquid lipstick – but I didn’t realise how close the colours where until I did a mini spring clean over the weekend, trying to sort out what lipsticks I wanted to wear over the next week for my #365LipstickDays Lipstick Challenge.
I really wanted to talk about the B. 1995 Lipstick as the Superdrug #ShadesofBeauty Campaign turned 1 last week which is a HUGE deal as I was actually at the launch event last year – how times flies – I’m not too sure how much you know about this campaign but Superdrug launched he #ShadesOfBeauty initiative as a way to challenge themselves with the aim of making Afro-Carribean and Asian beauty products – I’m talking skin, hair, foundations e.g. basically THE WORKS – more accessible and affordable on the high street. I think they’ve done amazing well in the last year and I really can’t wait to see what else they bring out as all the products I’ve tried out have been exceptional . . . . which leads me onto today’s lipstick.
The B. 1995 Matte Liquid Lipstick – £6.99 via Superdrug – have been formulated with a non-sticky, non-drying texture to give you velvety, smooth matte lips that still leave your lips feeling hydrated and smooth. In it’s packaging the B 1995 Lipstick looks like a dark pink taupe lipstick but when worn on dark skin, I feel the the pink undertones become very pronounced and this lipstick takes on a gorgeous dark rose effect thats simply stunning.
As you can see from my swatch below, this matte liquid lipstick does not flake or settle stiffly into the lines of my lips and I have to say that my lips do look quite soft and hydrated (though they don’t really feel that way).
I think the B. 1995 Matte Liquid Lipstick is a gem for it’s price point and I’m more than happy to wear when I want to give my more expensive lipsticks a day off. I wish it lasted a little bit longer than it does but I got about 4 hours worth of wear from it which is impressive seeing as I drink about 5 cups of tea & hot water a day
The B. 1995 Matte Liquid Lipstick costs £6.99 and is available to purchase at Superdrug.
