Over the weekend, I realized just how slack I’ve been at blogging. I found the Illamasqua Soaked Glamore Lipstick hiding in my collection of unopen lipstick products – because it’s an unspoken blogger rule that you cannot use a lipstick before blogging about it – and I realized I had almost 1 years’ worth of unloved beauty items as I just haven’t had the motivation to put pen to paper – or fingers to keyboard – and just write down my thoughts.
I could blame work commitments – which would be the easy excuse – but if I’m 100% honest, I just haven’t had the motivation or time to dedicate to my website as I used to and I also didn’t really feel like there was a place on the internet/blogosphere for my little blog (which FYI sucks) but finding the Illamasqua Soaked Lipstick under the piles of makeup (and dust) on my desk sparked something inside me over the weekend.
I did a HUGE beauty clear out over the weekend; binning and gifting away over half of my makeup collection, and made a commitment to myself to stop making excuses and start making small changes to my routine to rediscover my love for beauty and on that note. I’m going to give myself the blog challenge of a lifetime and kick off the
#365LipstickDays Lipstick Challenge
For the next 365 days, I’m going to do a short 2 mins post on a lipstick. It might be a brand new lipstick or it might just be a lipstick I’ve worn in the past but has never made it onto the blog, either way the challenge has been cast and I’m determined to fulfill it . . . . . . so I might as well quickly chat about the Illamasqua Soaked Glamore Lipstick (it seems only right)
So the Illamasqua Soaked Glamore Lipstick – £20.00 via Illamasqua – is a vibrant orange lipstick with a satin finish that has been designed for anyone who wants a vibrant lip with a hydrated, comfortable finish. As I said earlier I found this lipstick while doing a little spring clean so I’m not too sure what inspired this purchase – lthough I might have been given it in a goodie bag years ago – but one thing became very clear as I watched the Soaked lipstick on my lips.
This lipstick is SO bright!
I think that the Illamasqua Soaked lipstick gives the impression that it is not actually as pigmented as it really is – it traps you, like a lipstick venus trap – which makes it little bit harder to work for an every day look in my opinion. I have to mute the colour with my fingers to make it easier to wear but that just my preference. Overall I think the Illamasqua Soaked Glamore Lipstick is a very pigmented and comfortable to wear but it does slip and slide so if purchase this lipstick, don’t expect it to stay in one place.
The Illamasqua Soaked Glamore Lipstick costs £20.00 and is available to purchase from Illamasqua
