As lip toppers seem to be all the range at the moment – and I really have NO IDEA why – I thought that you guys might appreciate the Marc Jacobs Pink Steam Enamored Lip Lacquer. Yes I know it’s a lip-gloss but trust me, if you are paying over £20 then you have to think out of the box to justify the purchase. I think I’m going to keep this review quite short and sweet – well shorter than my usual posts – as I feel that the Marc Jacobs Pink Steam lipgloss is a trend item rather than something I would pick up as I planned to use it every single day.

The Marc Jacobs Pink Steam (322) Enamored Lip Lacquer – £22 via John Lewis – is a frosted, lavender lip gloss with silver shimmer that has a gorgeous cushioned effect when worn on the lips. Infused with a Grapefruit and Apricot formulation, this Marc Jacobs Enamored Lip Lacquer does give me lips a slightly sticky, hydrated feel which is definitely welcome this summer. In terms of pigmentation, I don’t think the pigment is anything to write home back -after this is a lipgloss, not a lipstick – but I would say it gives a medium coverage when worn on the lips.

I don’t know if this would be a deal breaker for you – as every lipgloss these days seem to follow this fragrance trend – but the Marc Jacobs Pink Steam Lip Lacquer has a slightly minty fragrance. I don’t find or think this the scent very overpowering as it’s barely noticeable once applied but everybody’s nose works differently.

As I’m a brown, red or pink lipstick kinda of gal, it’s not often I wear purple or lavender lipsticks – I mean I buy them, but I rarely ever use them – so I cannot in good conscious recommend this product as I point blank REFUSE to use the Marc Jacobs Pink Steam on its own – as its cool tones look HORRIBLE against my skintone – and it doesn’t really work layered on top of my everyday lipsticks. Now this is not to say this lipgloss wouldn’t look amazing on the right person and the right skintone . . . it’s just a bit ‘blah’ for me.

The Marc Jacobs Pink Steam Enamored Lip Lacquer costs £22 and is available to purchase from John Lewis
