There’s literally NOTHING in the beauty world that excites me more than a new foundation that ACTUALLY compliments dark skin tones. I’ve been trying out the Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation in Clearly Almond for the last few days and gosh it is just so different from what I already have in my beauty collection! I actually took the Blemish Remedy to Berlin with me as I didn’t know where what the weather would be like in Berlin – as I’ve never been to Germany – but I knew I needed a compact powder foundation that would complement my dark skin tone without succumbing to the elements.

I’m not sure how much you know about the original Blemish Remedy Foundation that Bare Minerals released many moons ago but I personally didn’t really know much about that foundation as I rarely use mineral makeup as I prefer liquid and gel formulations but Bare Minerals have infused new technology with their original formula and the new Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation was born (I like to call it BR v2.0).

I’ve been given the Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation in Clearly Almond 09 – £26 via Bare Minerals – to play with and I can definitely see why there is an appeal for a very finely milled powder with a lightweight finish that doesn’t block the pores on your face. The Blemish Foundation in Clearly Almond comes with a mesh net dispenser placed firmly on top that helps to mill the powder and stop your foundation powder from being exposed to the elements which can lead to contamination.

I don’t really get that many blemishes – not bragging, it is what it is – so I’m not sure how the inclusion of Aspen Bark and Tea Tree Oil would help to prevent future breakout but I do have horrible allergies at the moment (I hate hayfever) so I am actually waiting until I get onto the bus in the mornings before I apply my foundation as I really do think the tea-tree oil infused in this foundation helps to de-puff my eyes and the scent is just so calming.

I cannot comment on how the new Blemish Remedy Foundation compares to its predecessor – as I never used it – but from talking to the lovely ladies at Bare Minerals, it seems like this foundation is very similar the original except with a few bells and whistles that really cater to wearers who have problematic skin or suffer from breakouts.

The Bare Minerals Blemish Remedy Foundation will cost £26 and will be available to purchase from September 2015.
