I can’t remember the last time I was THIS excited to talk about a foundation. I’ve been playing it fairly safe with my foundation choices lately as I’ve been a bit too busy to brave the crowds on Oxford Street to go on a swatching marathon. I’ve been wanting to try out this Bare Minerals foundation ever since I interviewed celebrity makeup artist Aimee Adams; who has worked with Sienna Miller, Elle Macpherson and Rachel Weisz, for Yahoo Lifestyle and she LOVED this foundation.
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in Chestnut 09 – £26 via Bare Minerals – is sheer to medium coverage foundation with a gel-like texture and has been designed to give your skin a natural, radiant finish . . . similar to how your skin looks when you are having a REALLY good skin day. Bare Minerals calls their new foundation a ‘multitasking genius’ as it combines the skincare benefits and coverage of ‘a BB, a CC, and a tinted moisturiser’ with a supposed 215% skin hydration boost after just one week
If I’m going to be very honest with you, I didn’t really like the gel cream texture of this foundation when I first tried it. I was actually prepared to say that the foundation just wasn’t for me and I didn’t like the way it looked on my skin BUT then I lost my “ol’ faithful foundation of choice” and my Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Gel Cream was the only thing I could find on my messy makeup table – don’t judge me – and I absolute loved it!! My skin looked healthy, moisturised and clear . . . .er that normal.
The only thing that changed between the first time and the second time I tried the Gel Cream Foundation is my foundation brush so I would definitely recommend that you use a buffing brush to get the best finish.
The Complexion Rescue Gel Cream lasts for about 4-6 hours though it was a little bit difficult to pinpoint exactly when it wore off so take this time frame with a pinch of salt
Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in Chestnut isn’t available in the UK til April 2015 but I let you know once it is live.
