I don’t think it’s a secret how much I adore Jane Cunningham of British Beauty Blogger. I remember being in complete AWE when I was first met her at LBQ first blogger meet up in 2011 and just thinking she was one of the most amazing women I had ever met and to be quite honest, my opinion of her hasn’t really changed in the last 3 years. I know you’ve probably heard about this as it’s HUGE but Jane has just launched a Limited Edition Makeup Collection at Marks & Spencers.
Jane worked with illustrator Nuno da Costa to create a range that targeted ‘all women in mind – focussing on wearable yet colourful shades that anyone could work with’. The British Beauty Blogger Limited Edition Marks & Spencer Range launches at Marks & Spencers this October and includes a Nailpolish Range (RRP £14), Eye & Cheek Palette (RRP £14),Bronzer (RRP £15), 8 Kohl Eye Pencils Collection (RRP £15), a Trio of Lip Crayons (£15) and a cosmetic bag (RRP £12). I’ve been lucky enough to have been given a few pieces from her new range so without further ado, let the review begin!!!
I’m going to start off with the Lipcrayon Set as I’m a lipstick, lipgloss, lip-whatever lover and these crayons were the first thing I opened once I got my package. From my previous experiences with lip crayons, I was expecting these to have a sheer, jelly-liek appearance and leave a barely-there tint to my lips but these packed quite a bit of a punch and they feel SO COMFY! The British Beauty Blogger x M&S Trio Lip Set comes in 3 colours – Selfie (a raspberry-coral pink), Cami ( a cool beige-nude) and Heartful (a cherry red. I’ve only include face swatches of Selfie and Heartful as Cami was just too light and didn’t work for my skin tone AT ALL but hey, you win some and you lose some and considering how gorgeous Selfie looks on me, I think that I’m winning.
I’m going to be completely honest right now and say that I haven’t used all 8 of these Marks & Spencer x British Beauty Blogger Eye Pencil Kit yet and I’ve only used the darker shades BUT if all these pencils have the same formula – and they do seem to – then you’re going to like them. In this set of 8 kohl eyeliners you get 3 brights – lilac, teal and baby blue; 3 mid tones – a dark, denim blue, dark purple and maroon, and finally 2 blacks – a charcoal shade and a glittery black one. These eyeliners have a quite pigmented – as you can see above, my swatches really jump out at you despite the fact that I didn’t layer the colour – and the pencils are very easy to work with so you don’t need a makeup artist certification to use them. I don’t think these eyeliners are luxury brand level but they do sit just above an eyeliner you could buy from Superdrug or Boots.
The British Beauty Blogger Limited Edition Range runs from October – February, at your nearest Marks & Spenser Beauty Hall or on the Marks & Spencer Website.
