I’m such an oddball! While everyone bought the Burberry My Burberry Festive Eau De Parfum over the winter break, I bought the original Burberry My Burberry Eau De Parfum instead! I honestly don’t know why I did that especially when both fragrances were the same price and the limited edition Burberry My Burberry perfume came with gorgeous golden flakes but alas that’s what hindsight is all about.
If you happened to miss the epic Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss campaign surrounding this perfume, then get ready for a little history lesson. The new Burberry My Burberry is inspired by the iconic trench coat and Burberry’s heritage of British design and craftsmanship. The bottle has been intricately designed to reflect the iconic details of the trench coat with a bold horn-finish cap that echoes its distinctive buttons and a hand-tied bow made from English-woven gabardine to honour the tough, tightly woven fabric invented by Thomas Burberry over 100 years ago.
Apparently the My Burberry perfume is meant to capture the fragrance of a London garden after the rain but I honestly think they are fluffing quite a bit as this scent is WAY too strong to smell like anyone's garden. I’m not really a fan of floral scents as they give me a bit of a headache sometimes– so you can tell I got this perfume because of the brand and packing rather than its scent – but the Burberry My Burberry has a Patchouli base (and I LOVE Patchouli).
I actually think that this Burberry perfume is sourer than I expected it to be especially if you consider that it has Bergamot, Mandarin Orange and Sweet Pea as its top notes but I don’t know if that is a body chemistry thing or not
Personally the Burberry My Burberry is not my favourite fragrance in my collection but I would definitely use it if the occasion called for it.
