There is versatility in the nude lipstick and when said nude lipstick has “Fallen from the Lipstick Kissing Tree’ in the Amazon rainforest and encased in rose gold, it would be insensitive of me not to pick this up considering how much time I’ve spent at the Charlotte Tilbury makeup counter at Selfridges this past month

Charlotte Tilbury Stoned Rose K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick (RRP £23.00) is part of Charlotte’s ‘007″ fail-safe range for perfect lips. Enriched with Bixa Orellana. A breakthrough, anti-oxidant that protects from UV damage and external pollution – aka general London living – while still leaving your lips feeling cashmere-kissed. As CT is all about the perfect nude for any skintone, I decided to pick a nude that I felt would compliment my skintone the most – Stoned Rose

Stoned Rose is a dark pinky brown with a creamy/satin finish that is a bit darker than YSL Rouge Volupte Soft Beige, thicker and creamier than MAC Doubleshot lipstick and ]. . . ] . The packaging for the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick range is breathtaking in dark red-wine and rose gold with ridges running around the tube. I’m unsure whether the ridges are just for aesthetics but they do help you to keep a better grip if you happen to suffer from”Butterfinger”-vitis like I do. While Stoned Rose is not a shade I’ve never seen before, it is its texture and weight that endears this shade to me. It has the pigmentation of a matte lipstick but the wear of a balm and when paired with a lip pencil this shade just comes alive and stays put for hours, which is good considering how much this costs.

I  have noticed from swatching the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick range at the CT counter that the brighter shades in her lipstick range dry to a matte, stain when swatched and last without fading and budging for about 4-6 hours. Obviously how a lipstick wears on the lips in quite different to how it behaves on my arm but I felt that this was an informative tidbit to share with you. I’m waiting to next payday so I can pick up a few more products from the CT range as I’m beyond impressed with her entire range  . . . yes I’m fangirling at the moment, but who cares???!
