In a case of packaging vs formula, how ‘good’ the Dior Addict Fluidstick range is depends entirely on who is wearing it. Since launching in Spring 2014, the Dior Addict Fluidsticks have compelled and confused the beauty community – is it a stain, gloss or lipstick?? Nobody really knows!! – Formulated with intense, long-wearing lip stain pigments encapsulated in spheres of gloss and formulated with water for maximum lightness, the Fluid Stick are meant to have the high-impact colour and long wear of a classic lipstick, combined with the shine of a gloss . . . however it doesn’t wear like a lipstick or feel like a gloss at all . . . what a predicament.
A few weeks ago, I had a photoshoot for the Swatch Gallery and my lovely models had to swatch the Dior Addict Fluidstick in 229 Beige Passion, 449 Ciel Rose and 779 Plaisir – £26.50 via Selfridges – and like always I got their opinions on the products they were wearinng because let’s face it, my job as a blogger is not to tell you what you should buy – I’m not a TV commercial – but to give you my recommendations for products that I THINK are worth your money based on my experience but getting other opinions can be worth their weight in blogging gold.
I am currently taking baby steps to be the first colour conscious blog in the UK – with great power comes great responsibility – so when I talk about products and give my opinion, please bear in mind that I am trying VERY hard to talk to you as a person who just loves makeup as well as someone who is trying to ‘colour match’.
When it comes to the Dior Addict Fluidstick range there is no denying that these cute silver and transparent pigmented tubes with a well thought out angled sponged applicator are gorgeous – especially on the Dior Addict Plaisir Fluidstick – BUT and this is a big BUT, this product is tacky, thin with a strange taste (don’t ask me why I know what it tastes like).

Personally I don’t mind the weak formula as pigmentation and packaging is more important to me BUT I will throw both my hands up and say that the Dior Addict Fluid Stick is not the most impressive luxury product I have ever had AND it is not a lipstick . . . like honestly this couldn’t be further away from a lipstick liquid if they tried.
