Everyone on the blogosphere is talking about the Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa Excelsa EDP I’m here talking about the Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Eau de Parfum . . . I guess I just have to resign myself that I am slightly out of the perfume loop at the moment – Meh, C’est La Vie!! – but to be quite honest I started the Fragrance of the Week series as a way to challenge myself to blog about my insane perfume collection and I’m not going to let a little thing like seasonality get in my way gosh darnit!
The Dolce & Gabbana Dolce EDP was designed to be a gentle, feminine scent based on White Water Lily, White Daffodil, Neroli leaves defined by the White Amaryllis; a South African flower. I think imagery plays a large part in this scent as there are strong links to Dolce & Gabbana’s Sicilian roots with a vintage inspired flower stopper, a black grosgrain ribbon and an elegant bow to top it off.
Even though I have this perfume, I do have to admit that I don’t think that the Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Perfume is a ‘knock your socks out of the water’ fragrance but rather a nice, fresh every day scent that you know you can use without knocking someone unconscious on the train with your smell as it doesn’t actually last that long (which FYI is DEFINITELY odd for an EDP)
If you are in the market for a light, green scent then this Dolce & Gabbana fragrance might be the one for you but if you are looking for something with a bit more mystic and depth with a long wearing time, then you might want to choose something else.
