There I was. About to walk out of the Oxford Street Boots & out of the corner of my eye, I see a poster for the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation. I actually walked right past that poster, out of the store then did an about turn. It took that long for the words

“Now in 40 shades”

to filter through my brain.

I’m one of those odd people who always seem to an in-between shade when it comes to foundation e.g. foundation is too cool/too warm or too light/too dark so when I hear a brand has extended their product range, I always, ALWAYS have to do an in-store swatch to see if they have released a foundation that’s right for me. . . .and FYI Lancome came thorough for me.

The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation – £31.50 via LookFantastic – is actually Lancome’s best selling foundation with the Lancome Ambre Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation being a recent addition to the range. This liquid foundation has been designed to be long-lasting while providing full coverage without feeling heavy or cakey on the skin. , With great staying power and a formulation of NAI pigments; specially coated pigments maintain consistent pH level with skin, so colour stays true all day, and Eternalsoft Polymer, this foundation has been designed to allow  increased comfort throughout the day.

One thing Lancome don’t tell you, is that this foundation is scented.

Sacrébleu!!

As I have sensitive skin and personally hate wearing products with strong fragrances as

a) They tend to trigger an allergic reaction

b) They make me feel like I’m drowning in a lagoon of scent.

the fact that the Lancome Ambre Teint Idole did make me pause for a moment but luckily the scent isn’t very strong as seems to fade the moment you apply it to the skin.

I don’t know if this foundation actually lasts 24 hours – and I’m not prepared to sleep in my makeup to find out – but it lasted 10+ hours before I noticed subtle fading on my forehead.

If you LOVE the radiant finish of the NARS Sheer Glow foundation range but are looking for something a little more matte, then I would recommend grabbing a bottle of the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation as it EXCEPTIONAL . . . . and you don’t have to fork out extra cash for a foundation pump

The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation in Ambre 12 costs £31.50 and is available to purchase from LookFantastic
