Can someone please explain to me why it has taken me so long to get on the NYX Teddy Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick train? I know I’ve been out of the beauty game for almost 6 months now – and yes I’m very well rested now, thanks for asking – but just because I haven’t been blogging doesn’t mean that I haven’t been buying!
I actually bought this liquid lipstick last weekend in the Boots in Bluewater – definitely recommend that counter btw – and while I can put my hand on my heart and say that I don’t need another liquid lipstick, there is just something about buying a new lipstick that makes me feel warm & fuzzy inside.
The NYX Teddy Lip Lingerie – £6.50 via Boots – is a warm, muted brown with slight red undertones. As NYX Teddy is a ‘black girl friendly’ nude lipstick, I found that it lasted around 5 hours on the lips but this wear-time would probably be a lot shorter if this was a bolder colour.
According to NYX Cosmetics, the NYX Lip Lingerie range is supposed to be a ‘seductive’ and weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish that coats the curves your lips with an irresistibly creamy colour. . . That’s basically a lot of jargon to say that this is a thick liquid lipstick with a velvet matte feel.
I definitely think the NYX Teddy Liquid Lipstick formulation is what makes this lipstick a winner in my eyes. If we were to compare the NYX Teddy to ColourPop Beeper, the NYX Teddy Lip Lingerie feels thicker, is less prone to cracking, doesn’t burrow into the lines of your lips & doesn’t transfer . . . and the packaging doesn’t leak (¬_¬)!
I don’t feel like the amount of products inside the NYX Lip Lingerie is directly proportional to its packaging aka the amount of products inside the liquid lipstick is next to NONE and you WILL start seeing gaps after one/two uses. Considering that aren’t that many affordable liquid lipsticks with a great formula & colour range, I think I’m just going to have to give the NYX Teddy Lip Lingerie Lipstick a pass.
