I’m not exactly sure what inspired me to buy the Oud Milano Liquid Silk Lipgloss in 660. I would normally NEVER spend almost £40 on a lipgloss, especially on a brand that I was not familiar with. Heck I don’t even own any Tom Ford Makeup products because I cannot justify the price in my head so I don’t understand what inspired me to walk into the Oud Milano store on Oxford Street and walk out with this lipgloss – I think it had to be the 2 sales assistants working at the store that day . . . they were super nice and I think that lured me into a weird state of confusion where I thought a £36 lipgloss was normal, because quite honestly that is the only way to justify my behaviour to my debit card – Great Customer Service aka a skill that is in short demand these days ESPECIALLY on beauty counters.
The Oud Milano Liquid Silk Lipgloss in 660 – via Oud Milano – is described as a premium liquid silk lipgloss that has been designed to glides onto your lips to fill it with a vibrant layer of colour that doesn’t feel sticky or heavy. On my lips the Oud Milano Liquid Silk Lipgloss in 660 is a gorgeous, opaque, berry colour that applies evenly with an impressive pigmentation level. This lipgloss has a fruity fragrance that is noticeable but not overbearing – which is fine as I’m not the biggest fan of cosmetic products with a strong fragrance. In my opinion, I do think this Oud Milano Ligloss is good – not £36 good but not good – but I can’t escape the “elephant in the room.
I do NOT like the fact that the packaging on this lipgloss is plastic.
I understand that Oud Milano is a Middle Eastern cosmetics brand and due to the high temperatures in that region of the world, having cosmetics in plastic packaging reduces the risk of the products exploding due to high heat temperatures but we are in the UK where we are only graced with one month of sunshine in a year – so if Oud Milano want to justify a £36 price point for the Oud Milano Liquid Silk Lipgloss in 660 in the UK, they will HAVE to reconsider their packaging.
Right now I definitely do not feel like I got value for money and I would not repurchase or recommend this lipgloss as a ‘must have’- sorry guys
The Oud Milano Liquid Silk Lipgloss in 660 costs between £31.54- £38 depending on the GBP exchange rate for the day and is available to purchase from the Oud Milano UK website
