Ever seen a product & thought ‘I don’t get it!’ Well that is exactly what I’m thinking as I hold the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Perfector in my hand. Now don’t get me wrong, the Touche Eclat Blur Perfector has got to be the prettiest thing that Yves Saint Laurent have released in years but I cannot figure out if it is some sort of balm or perhaps a very odd corrector or maybe a primer . . . I hope it’s a powder.

I really hope that this is a powder

Yves Saint Laurent are currently pushing YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector as a “make-up artists’ favourite weapon for radiant blurred perfection” . . . or as a blurring cream. Well I don’t know about you but that just sounds like a fancy way of saying “powder that looks and acts like a primer but is actually a setting powder’.

The YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector – £32.50 via John Lewis – is a beautifully packaged blurring balm that you apply on top of your makeup to blur out the appearance of pores and imperfections, giving your skin a smooth, flawless appearance – It’s like the Flower Snapachat filter – This product is aimed at anyone who wants to touch up their makeup during the day without disturbing their makeup.

The real selling point for this balm is its packaging.

Quite Frankly, the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector is GOREGOUS!!!!!

BUT As pretty and instagramable as this product is, I actually don’t think it’s amazing.

I’m lucky enough to have normal skin with no skin issues but I found that when I applied this balm on top of my foundation, it did move my makeup quite a bit – which was VERY annoying – but my skin felt amazing and quite matte. I think this product would work very well on anyone with combination or oily skin but if you happen to have dry skin or normal skin (like me) then the YSL Touche Eclat Blur Perfector is just a nice to have

Personally I think that you could get a great setting powder or face powder at the fraction of the cost but it definitely won’t be as instagramable
