Hold Everything!!! The Glossier UK Launch Is TODAY

If you are a beauty or skincare lover then I know you probably already knew that the Glossier UK launch was today and had the 9th October bookmarked in your phone’s calendar since summer. If you don’t know much about Glossier and why they UK launch has the beauty community so excited, then grab a seat and a spot of tea as I’m about to start my ‘Introduction to Glossier’ lecture.

Glossier are a HUGE skincare and beauty brand from the US started by the blogging mastermind behind Into The Gloss (a huge beauty website); Emily Weiss, who created a “new kind” of beauty brand with simplified packaging that focused more on the product and the products benefits rather than glitzy packaging and over-reaching claims. Each product was tested relentless by the Into The Gloss Team before a small skincare collection was introduced to the US market and became SUCH a cult brand that it very quickly became a favourite with bloggers and celebrities alike

. . .  and like all US products, it was not easy to get across the pond without paying for your soul in custom duty fees (until now).

As Glossier launchedtheir products in the UK today, I wanted to give you a quick round up on the Glossier products I think are worth your hard earned funds and do what they ACTUALLY say they do, so let’s get started.

Glossier Milk Jelly Cleaner

As I’m pretty much covered on my nighttime skincare routine – and don’t want to make any changes there – I’ve been using the Glossier Milk Jelly Cleaner  – £15 via Glossier UK – as a simple morning cleanser to remove any traces of sleep and makeup spots I might have missed the night before and so far this simple, no-frills cleanser from Glossier is quite lovelyl My skin doesn’t feel tight or super moisturised – which is ok as I’m about to go in my moisturiser, primer and foundation layers – so I would never use this in the evening as it’s just not up to the job and would leave me feeling VERY disappointed but if you are after a mild, jelly cleanser that smells like a dessert then you can go wrong here.

Glossier Dew Effect Highlighter in Quartz

Admittedly the Glossier Dew Effect Highlighter in Quartz – £18 via Glossier UK – is not the most pigmented highlighter in my makeup collection but you really just have to love the versatility of a stick highlighter. The Glossier Quartz highlighter is a duo highlighter with a pigmented silver-pink outer ring and an oil-based inner core. Apparently this highlighter is infused with crystal extracts for all-day dewy glow but I’ll be 100% honest with here, as silver pink looks quite harsh on me  – as is not that flattering – I don’t think I experienced an effect that I was happy with.

If you have dark skin like me and do want to try this highlighter out, I would recommend opting for the Glossier Topaz Dew Effect Highlighter as it’s a gorgeous bronze highlighter that would probably look dazzling on melanin-rich skintones

Glossier Stretch Concealer in Rich 50

The problem with looking at makeup shades without adequate dark skin swatches on the internet is that you can’t colour-match yourself correctly. The Glossier Stretch Concealer in Rich 50 – £15 via Glossier UK –  is actually way too dark for me to use as a concealer as it matches my foundation shade almost exactly. I think I might have to do a full post on this concealer as there as so many points on why its a good and bad products – depending on what you’re looking for in a concealer – but it’s worth an honorary mention.

Glossier Priming Moisturiser

Out of all the Glossier products I’ve tried the Glossier Priming Moisturiser – £18 via Glossier UK – is my all time favourite and probably the only product that I would actually purchase with my own money. I’ve been wearing it religiously with my Fenty Beauty 440 Pro Filtr Foundation and my skin looks and FEELS amazing! I was a bit worried that this moisturising primer would break my out as it has a lot of floral ingredients e.g. Honeysuckle which my skin is not used to but my skin couldn’t be happier.

I do think it is a little on the pricy side at £18 as you only get 50ml of product but if you like having a glowing complexion with a soft, bouncy finish then this is the cream for you

  1. I’ve never heard of Glossier before. I do like my beauty products though so i will do a bit more research about them! I super love the simplified packaging though! I love that kind of clinical look that brands like Aesop adopt.

  2. I do like to use a simple moisturiser under foundation and this sounds perfect. I have very sensitive skin and it is always great to read first hand experience, thank you.

  3. I’ve not heard of this brand before. The priming moisturiser sounds lush

  8. I live in the US and I still haven’t tried anything from the brand. If I did, it would be the cheek colours. Have you tried those? I’m just curious if they would show up on darker skin..Great post!
