Even though I am a self-proclaimed beauty hoarder and REGULARLY purchase makeup just for the sake of it – although if you are a member of my family, I will deny this and say every purchase is essential – I have noticed that I have been leaning towards more ‘classic’ beauty brands like Bobbi Brown Cosmetics over the last year or so.

Now this might be because I pass the Fabled.com Beauty Store on Tottenham Court Road every day & the Bobbi Brown counter is LITERALLY the first beauty counter you see when you walk in . . . . or because I bought too much stuff in their last Sample sale.

Let’s pretend it is not the later . . . .

Either I wanted to do a little stripped back edit of what I think are the best five, dark skin friendly products for Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder

I don’t even wear highlighters than often but when I do chances are I’m wearing one of the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powders. For a while Bobbi Brown decided to be super annoying and discontinue their highlighting powder range or only offer them as a limited edition product – who does that??! – Anyway they brought back 3 of their shades in the UK and they are stunning. If work in an office or like subtle makeup then I would recommend trying the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Brown Glow – £36.00 via Bobbi Brown – as it is gives dark skin a gorgeous, light reflective highlight that looks like the sun kissed your skin rather than gave you an Academy Winning slap on your cheeks.

Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara

I LOVE this mascara!

I wasn’t gifted with the longest lashes in the world and my lashes e tend to curl, so finding out about the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara – £25.00 via Bobbi Brown – was an unexpected gift to my lashes. This kohl-black mascara stretches out my lashes so that they look like they are standing up for attention AND it doesn’t flake. I wear contacts almost everyday so using flake-proof eye products is HIGH on my must have list.

Since discovering this mascara late last year, I’ve already gone through 6 tubes – which is A LOT for me – and plan to get 2 more on payday.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Liquid Lip Velvet Matte

When I first tried this out, I will admit that I wasn’t 100% sure about it – because let’s face it, I’m very hard to please when it comes to lipsticks as I own so many – but the newest lipstick to the Bobbi Brown Lipstick Range suprised me. I tested out the Bobbi Brown Luxe Liquid Lip Velvet Matte in Pink Shock – £28.00 via Bobbi Brown –  over the course of the work-day and it wasn’t too shabby. Now I hate the fact that it had a weird, plastic smell but I can definitely see why Bobbi Brown decided to formulate a liquid lipstick with powder pigments as the pigmentation is INTENSE!

Luckily they also decided to add Wild Mango Butter so the lipsticks in the Bobbi Brown Luxe Liquid Lip Velvet Matte – that I have tried anyway – are actually quite comfortable and easily last up 8 hours.

Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush

I stan for a good quality makeup brush. I actually own two Limited Edition 2017 versions of this brush as well as the standard Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush – £33.00 via Bobbi Brown – because they are just so multi-functional. You can use them with powder or liquid makeup products and the bristles are sooooo silky. I prefer to use my makeup brushes to apply my blush and bronzer combo – aka powder producst – but honestly you can use this to apply your face powder, liquid foundation . . . it all depends on your routine.

I actually enjoyed doing this edit – so I think I might just make this a regular thing.  Do let me know in my comments below if I should keep this going.
