I don’t ever like to call a product ‘disappointing’ but what the hell was I on when I picked up the Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Multi Use Illuminating Base?! I must have been distracted . . . woozy . . . in the mood to blow my paycheck . . . because this product is actually awful.

Am I being harsh? I really don’t think I am but what is this Chanel product meant to do exactly?

I bought the Chanel Multi Use Illuminating Base after seeing so many amazing reviews online as it is an ‘ingenious’ multi-tasking oil- free fluid that adds radiance to the face while priming the skin so that it is ready for makeup. The Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel is formulated with a unique blend of powders to reduce the appearance of fine lines for a smooth, even, flawless finish which sounds amazing in theory but in my opinion, how can anyone actually benefit from it when the Le Blanc de Chanel Multi Use Illuminating Base leaves a ghastly white film over the wearer’s face?

I’m sorry Chanel but being given the oddest ghostly grey ‘glow’ under my foundation does not count as ‘radiant’ in my books.

Honestly, I think the problem is that this Chanel Illuminating Base was not created for those with medium to dark skintones so getting it was a huge mistake on my part – drat! – I’m not too sure what I will do with this primer as I really hate to waste money but if you think that the Chanel Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base is a product that might work for you, you can pick this up at Harrods, Boots or Debenhams.
