Isn’t it funny that when it comes to certain types of makeup (like foundation etc.) you get stuck in a rut and never want to change? You get into a mindset that a certain foundation is ABSOLUTELY perfect for you and that you have no reason to try an alternative from a different brand  . . . until you happen to get a lovely makeup consultation done and get hooked???!

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to receive an AMAZING makeup consultation at the Estée Lauder counter during their Global Makeup Artist Event at Selfridges where I was taught a few makeup tricks, how to get the best out their products and most importantly what products worked for me and my skintone. Estée Lauder Stay In Place Foundation was one of the products chosen for me to try on the day, then sent to me by the lovely EL team and despite not having a pump, this foundation has soared onto my ‘lust list’.

Estēe Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup is a remarkably lasting, yet lightweight foundation that wears comfortably up to 15 hours, even in high humidity.

Estēe Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Foundation in Sandalwood (RRP £28.50) is a lightweight, water-based foundation that claims not to smudge or come off on clothes – I think men in white shirts everywhere are rejoicing at this news – I’m still in the process of trying this out as it means sacrificing my clothes for the sake of experimentation and I just haven’t gotten round to that BUT I can confirm; while changing clothes over weekend that my collar did remain foundation free for one which is a nice change.

This does have a SPF 10 factor so won’t normally be my first choice for parties or a night out as SPF and flash doesn’t mix very well  (and I end up looking like a ghost) but I could see this being used as my new daytime foundation as my skin doesn’t feel weighed down during the day and it leaves such a lovely matte finish.

I am currently using the Estee Lauder Stay-in-place foundation with a mixture of setting powders to see what really works for me but I’ve already promoted this foundation into my top 3 foundations list.
