What Shade Are You In . . . ?

I don’t think it would surpise you to know that I tend to get a lot of emails and messages asking me ‘what shade are you in MAC, Urban Decay, NARS etc . . .?  or brand recommendations (hence why I wrote an e-book). I do try to and email back as much possible as I know how frustrating it can be to shell out £30 or more on a foundation or concealer, just to find out that it just isn’t right.

At the moment I am working on the 2nd edition of my free ‘Foundations For Dark Skintones’ e-book – hope to get that live in the next month – but as my book is not ready yet, I thought that I should give you a full list of the foundations, correctors and concealers that I personally use and what shade I am in that brand in the off-chance that you happen to be a similar shade but are not quite sure what colour you might be.

When I saw this post on Lily Pebble’s blog, I thought the post was an AMAZING idea so I really hope this helps you out in some way and I will try to link this post to my sidebar so that you can easily find this page in the future

Which of these foundations or concealers do you use? Let me know in the comments below

  1. This is such a great post! I’m NW45 MAC and I really want to try Bare Minerals or Nars so this is a great start figuring out what foundation to get xx

    • My foundation of choice is the NARS Sheer Glow but the Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue gives a similar finish but you have to be careful what brush you use

    I’m officially scared of foundations.

I think i’m currently in my comfort zone of MAC’s matchmaster. I’ve been duped into buy really expensive ‘dations that don’t even match my skintone.

    *le sigh*

    • I think my issue is that I like to experiment too much lol

I am scared to waste my money but I’m starting to think of my blog as a public service and that I’m saving someone else from wasting their money (and I can give the foundation I don’t like to my sister, mum or aunts)

  3. Where is the first edition of your ebook located? I d love to read it!
