Now I don’t have oily skin so the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K+ was not really designed for me in mind especially because I prefer to use skincare products targeted at dry skin as I just love how soft and moisturised they made my skin feel but a few months ago I went to Nigeria for a wedding – FYI I melt in 30 degree weather – and I had to switch up my skincare routine in the weeks leading up to the big day so I didn’t sweat like I was being slowly cooked alive.

If used daily the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K+ is meant to mattify and correct combination skin by preventing sebum oxidisation and non-inflammatory breakouts. It has been formulated with Vitamin E to shield your skin whilst giving it an antioxidant boost and Carmonsine to protect your skin with proteins.

If I am going to be 100% honest with you, I just heard the word ‘mattify’ and was all over the product like white on rice.

I used the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K+ every day before my trip on clean skin before I applied my primer and makeup – though I did make sure that it had dried before applying my mattifying base – and all in all I actually think that I saw some effect from using this product as part of my routine as my makeup did look quite matte and generally flawless in all the pictures from the trip but I cannot comment on how the La Roche-Posay Effaclar K+ will work on someone with oily skin and is trying to prevent their excess sebum from oxidising into (blackheads and whiteheads.

The La Roche Posay Effaclar K+ costs £14.90 and is available to purchase from Escentual and Boots.
