I’ve been really slacking on the skincare front lately and as you can imagine  . . . my skin is DEFINITELY punishing me for the lack of attention – if this isn’t passive aggression, then I don’t know what is!! – To try and get my skin to fall back in love with me, I’ve been using a new multi-functional skin care serum given to me by a new Family-owned Irish beauty brand to see if my cynical skin would love it or loathe it

Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum is a lightweight fragrance-free, smooth concentrate that targets fine lines, dullness and dehydration restoring a healthy glow, plumpness and radiance

The Pestle and Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum – £33 via Pestle & Mortar – comes in a standard glass bottle with a dropper – simple yet effective – and has not been tested on animals, is parabens-free, propylene glycol free and fragrance-free. This Hyaluronic Serum is really making the rounds at the moment, and has been toted as ‘one of the best ways to hydrate dry and parched skin’ because it is able to bind up to 1000 times its weight in water which essentially means that this serum should provide continuous moisture to the skin

Even though the Pure Hyaluronic Serum is very easy to apply and is actually suitable for all skin types – music to my sensitive skin ears – I have not used this serum every day (more like 3 times a week) as I want to ease my skin into it. I know that might sound a little silly considering that Hyaluronic acid – what this serum is based on – is a substance that occurs naturally in the body and some people apply it to their wounds, burns, skin ulcers to speed up the healing process but my skin has a mind of its own and I rather be cautious than overzealous.

Despite the unicorn spot on my head that came out of nowhere this week – probably linked to dehydration – my skin feels very soft and has started to get its kick back. I’m sure that if I drank more water and use this serum consistently under my moisturiser in the mornings, my skin will look amazing by the summer.

The Pestle and Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum cost £32.99 and can be purchased on the Pestle and Mortar website.
