The first makeup product I ever purchased was a mascara and to this day I cannot leave the house without it.
Nothing beats a good mascara that does not clump and differentiates every lash.
From experimenting in Secondary School with my first Maybelline to spending my first ever pay-check on the Benefit’s They’re Real mascara, I can genuinely say I’ve know my way around mascara – which means that I had pretty high expectations for the Smashbox Superfan Mascara to pass before I even tried it.
The Smashbox Superfan Mascara – £19.00 via LookFantastic – is a vegan, cruelty-free lengthening mascara designed to give your eyelashes modern, fanned-out volume. The super-black, waterproof formulation has been designed to keeps lashes looking fuller and thicker without any clumping, smudging, flaking or heaviness for up to 12 hours.
This mascara from Smashbox comes equipped with a 360° Precision double-bristle brush that can loadsproduct from root-to tip, while the soft comb reaches, styles & reveals lashes you never knew you had.

I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive when I first pulled the wand out of the mascara tube as I have personally found over the years that a big wand brush does not always create volume and can leave a messy water line (potentially ruining my eye make-up) however I found that the Smashbox Superfan Mascara 360° Precision Brush is the perfect wand when it comes to achieving an even application with volume.
My favourite thing about this mascara is its ability to separate every lash without a clump. On the Smashbox website, it stated that mascara can hold for up to 12 hours and I can happily state – it survived 17 hours perfectly without a smudge despite London’s rain.
With this mascara, I’m able to create length and lift my eyelashes.
I also like how black the mascara formulation looks on my dark lashes. It is COMPLETELY jet black with sleek, low shine rather than matte black.
I have also managed to use this mascara in conjuction with strip lashes and the definition and blend was great. When used on the bottom lashes the volume created is absolutely gorgeous, to match the dramatic look of the lashes.
The only con I have about the Smashbox Superfan Mascara – remember I said I was picky when it comes to mascara – if that I feel that Smashbox mascara did not curl my lashes as well as it originally lead me to believe it would. would be I don’t feel as though it is able to curl my lashes as some may state.
